The Founder of Lak Nature International, Ms. Lakmini Weerakkody was recently recognized as the Best Woman Entrepreneur in the Kaluthara District at an event organized jointly by the Ministries of Women’s Affairs and Social Empowerment during a National celebration of International Women’s Day 2023.

Women entrepreneurs play a vital role in contributing to the Sri Lankan economy and in uplifting the livelihoods of women in their communities, particularly amidst the current economic crisis in Sri Lanka.

Commenting on her recent achievement, Ms. Lakmini Weerakkody stated “This award is a fitting tribute to our clients both local and international who have placed their trust in us and for all our staff members comprising mostly of women and our network of rural women farmer. I admire the State institutions for recognizing women entrepreneurs such as myself.”
